Kirkham Young Farmers raise money for SUAG

Kirkham Young Farmers recently donated the magnificent sum of £6.000 . The money had been raised via a number of fundraising events and the cheque was presented by Kathrin Fryars, an ex-patient of the Spinal Injuries Centre, at a SUAG barbecue attended by patients and their families in May. The evening was a great success and we are very grateful to Kathrin, her family and the Young Farmers for their generous support.

Gary Mosscrop of Southport based specialist cyle company, Mosscrop Cycles and his colleague Nick Hickman are set to complete a 1000 mile journey to raise funds for S.U.A.G. After planning a route that takes them from John O'Groats to Lands End in a gruelling 10 day schedule they recently stopped off after 6 days and 660 miles in to the ride at their shop on Bispham Road in Southport and were met by a "welcoming party" of SUAG members.

The pair faced fierce winds over the past week and have averaged around 100 miles per day. They are now looking forward to the final stretch that will see them finish at Lands End today (2nd August) but commented that it has been an incredible experience to undertake for a very worthy charity, even if they are currently a little saddle sore.  SUAG is a charity particularly close to the Mosscrop family's heart after Gary's father, Norman, was a patient at the Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport Hospital.
